Cassidy Law PLLC is excited to announce that Lynne Halbrooks is joining the firm. Lynne brings a wealth of industry and government experience to Cassidy Law PLLC. Her role as the Chief Compliance Officer and Deputy General Counsel of Acuity International gives her a unique perspective into the legal and compliance risks of doing business with the government. This experience enables her to understand how to use her legal knowledge to support clients in meeting their strategy and growth goals
Prior to her time in-house, Lynne served in numerous senior legal and leadership roles within the federal government, including at the U.S. Department of Defense where she was the Principal Deputy Inspector General and Acting Inspector General. Lynne also worked at the U.S. Senate and the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction and spent over a decade at the U.S. Department of Justice where she began her legal career as an Assistant U.S. Attorney. She was previously a partner at Holland & Knight and, most recently, Nichols Liu LLP.
“Lynne has been involved in federal government contracting throughout her career – she understands what companies need from their outside counsel and her commitment to practical, business-oriented solutions aligns perfectly with Cassidy Law. I am thrilled she decided to bring her practice here,” said Margaret Cassidy, founder of the firm.
Lynne will focus on ethics and compliance advice and representing clients in internal and government investigations and audits, including whistleblower reprisal investigations, suspension, and debarment proceedings. She has experience advising companies and individuals on matters involving the False Claims Act, conflicts of interest, counterfeit parts, cybersecurity, labor charging disputes, bribery and kickbacks, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. She has also helped clients respond to subpoenas and make mandatory disclosures and serves as an Independent Monitor.
“After years of collaborating with Margaret, I am excited to join forces and offer my clients the benefit of her experience,” said Ms. Halbrooks.
